The three companies are all Chinese machine importers to Uganda. They deal in almost same types of machineries i.e. agricultural implements, food processing equipment and industrial equipment.
The first two are located in the same premises (UMA Show Grounds Lugogo) and the later is on Jinja Road and Industrial area.
However, the three seem to have the same kind of management, administrative, customer care and aftersales service structure. Someone wonders if they were born of the same mind.
I shared this question with members on whatsapp Agribusiness Platform forum and the followimg are their opinions:
"Locations will be best and quality of machines performance from happy customers" Robert, Group 1.
"They are all Chinese machine importers to Uganda but Using different names! At times its even 1 business man owning all of them but with different objectives. There is also CCCC and CCCC Uganda all Chinese company in construction! Hehe company names issues" Joseph, Group 6, Agribusiness Platform
"Some people do not believe that a black man can do quality work. Many buy from those shops, and when the machines fail, they cannot go back to complain, because i know for a fact that one of those entities are bold enough to let you know that their machines have no guarantee. So when they fail, they usually contact us to rectify the problem or modify the machine. Recently, i was contacted by a gentleman who bought a seed cleaner, but it was not performing at all !!" Grace, Group 2 Agribusiness Platform
"Many don't always believe in Ugandan made products because many Ugandans also don't put in much to make quality machines. I have seen only Musa Body with better machines than the fake China machines only that they again use the China engines." John M., Group 3 Agribusiness Platform.
"Not everything made in China is of poor quality. It's the business people who bring similar but much cheaper goods of poor quality and charge higher prices to make a kill! Otherwise, Chinese companies supply very high quality goods in USA and EU markets. So, I would blame the unpatriotic attitudes of the business people who deliberately bring the poor quality goods and a very weak system to protect the consumers." Yorokamu, Group 3, Agribusiness Platform.
What is your opinion or experience of the three companies? Please leave a comment.
