Effects of COVID-19 on agriculture related businesses in Uganda and Africa

  Introduction and background

Following the president's directive in Uganda on closing country borders considering Covid-19, there was immediate panic and fear in the Ugandan population. The Agasha team noted varied of discussions on its existing WhatsApp Agribusiness Platform groups. Most members were worried of the future of Uganda's economy since 80% relies on agriculture.

A side group discussion forum was formed consisting of mainly Ugandans. However, there was a need for learning from other countries since Corona Virus has become a global challenge.

  Objectives

Assist participants with good understanding of the current status of Covid-19 in their countries

Put together a platform that would accommodate national and international audience

Map out a path for communication post Covid-19
